I thoroughly enjoyed having guest speakers throughout the course. There were many stand out lectures - but the ones I found most informative for my work were: Neil, Julie, John, and Manfred. They each presented a breadth of research and it helped guide my final project. In addition - Bianka and Mats were both very helpful and facilitated a great class. They both presented great lectures (especially stress & immune system and pain as part of the sickness response - were the 2 most important lectures for me)! They also seemed to genuinely care about student input and making this a class that students get the most for their future career as possible (e.g., stating potential PNI related societies and conferences). Overall - a very good class! |
I think the examination was excellent, great learning experience. Great mix of lectures, very interesting topics and the lectures did not overlap which was good. Gave a good overview of the field as well as update on relevant literature. |

It could be nice to have a part of the day dedicated to discussing a relevant article (1-2 articles for 15-30 minutes). This would encourage more discussion and critical thinking about each topic. |
The allocated time for each lecturer could have been a bit more adjusted, since some lecturers did not need the allocated time and some lecturers could need more time. |
There needs to be a clearer connection between behavior and immune/endocrine system. This was barely touched upon during the course. Instead lecturers just told us that here we see behavior, and here we see immune system. No connection between them what so ever. How? Why? Is it even relevant? What does it mean? |

One idea could be to, during the two weeks, have one or two sessions where students are expected to sit down and discuss what has been dealt with during the lectures. Just for oneself to summerize, reflect and discuss. |
