The workshop assistants were very kind and helpful despite the fact that it was stressful for some of the students. Thanks for that! The e-learning modules were very nice and pleasant to learn from. Paul Flecknell was amazing to have as a teacher! Rafael Frias was also a very good lecturer. |
I really liked the lectures from Paul Flecknell.
The practical part was also very well done: since I did not have so much prior knowledge I was a bit nervous before the course but I was very happy that so many helpful hands were present during the practical session for guidance and support and I never felt stressed or pressured to do something I was not comfortable. |
I would want more practical moments. I found Rafaels lessons very helpful. |
I thought the practical part was a very good part of the course. this is where we were able to put what we learned into practice. I also appreciated the hybrid format with in person, zoom, and e-learning modules. |
The hands-on session in the last second is perfect. Sometimes practice is much better than only reading the study materials. |

I was really hoping for more practical time. I think one day is not enough to practice everything we learned. I think that that practical day was great but i think one more day where we kind of go through a full surgery ourselves with a mouse anesthetized would be really useful. I think it would be fun to have a second practical day where you choose 2 common surgeries (osmotic pump and something else for example) that we can do. In this way, we are given a mouse/rat, we decide what anesthetic/analgesia to give, we put the mouse to sleep, perform the surgery while checking the signs, and then suture things back up. |
The exam could be moved to another time slot since 4-5 pm might be late for some students (for example those who have kids). There should be more time in the schedule allocated for the e-leanings. I needed more time than what was allocated. |
As educators, we need to recognize that online courses are not suitable for everyone. Some people prefer face-to-face interactions and find online courses to be less engaging. Therefore, we should consider decreasing the length of webinars to keep learners' attention and interest. Additionally, we need to explore more interactive methods of teaching to enhance the learning experience. Ultimately, we must remember that the goal is to provide quality education in a way that is accessible for all, and that may mean finding alternative methods of delivery. |
The web course takes much longer time than provided. I spent more time than scheduled and still had go do them quickly which was not good for learning. |
Some questions during the exam were a bit tricky in the way they were formulated (so the wording), where it could be both correct and false depending on how one interprets it...
Also a few questions were not really mentioned during the lectures, so it was hard to answer even though we could use our study material. |
